AI Discovery & Readiness
A few weeks to find where AI would help, check your data and pick a safe first project.
Discuss Your ProjectIn plain terms
If you know you should be using AI but not where to start, this is the first step. Over a few weeks we look at how your business works, find the handful of places AI would pay off, check whether your data is up to it and recommend one small first project, including what it would cost and what it should save.
Does this sound familiar?
- Plenty of ideas and no sensible way to choose between them
- Doubt about whether your data is good enough
- An earlier AI trial never reached real use
A typical scenario
A 60-person finance and insurance broker
Before
The directors have been to three AI webinars and had two supplier pitches. Everyone has a different idea of what to do, nobody trusts the numbers in the pitches, and no one has time to investigate.
After
We spend two weeks with staff in sales, service and finance. The result is a ranked list of eight ideas, three discarded with reasons, and a recommendation: start with document intake for new policies, because the volume is high, the data is clean and the risk is low. The directors have a plan, a budget range and a way to measure it.
How we deliver it
From first call to running
- 1
Interviews
Short conversations with the people who do the work, in several teams.
You get: A map of where the time goes
- 2
The opportunity list
Each idea is scored for value, effort, data readiness and risk.
You get: A ranked list, with reasons
- 3
Data and systems check
We look at the data and integration needs of the top ideas.
You get: A readiness note for each
- 4
A quick test
A rapid prototype of the best idea, on real examples.
You get: A working demo and a measured result
- 5
The plan
A roadmap, a cost range and measures of success.
You get: A short written plan and a presentation
What we need from you
- An hour or so from staff in several teams
- Examples of the work and a sample of data
- A sponsor who can make a decision
- Honesty about what has not worked before
Where it works best
- You are unsure where AI would help
- You have had supplier pitches and cannot compare them
- An earlier AI trial stalled
Worth sorting out first
- A project already chosen: go straight to a pilot
- No time for staff to take part: a few hours from each team is what makes the plan useful
- A strategy document and nothing more: we keep it practical, with a plan you can act on
How we work with you
A fixed fee, agreed up front, for a few weeks of work. The plan is yours, and you can use any supplier to carry it out.

Questions
What if AI is not the answer?
Then we say so. Sometimes the cheaper fix is better software or cleaner data.
How long does it take?
Usually a few weeks, depending on scope. We agree the timescale and what you will receive before starting.
Do we have to buy the project afterwards?
No. The plan is yours, including the cost estimates, and you are free to use anyone to build it.
What if the answer is that we should wait?
Then we tell you why and what to fix first. A clear "not yet" is a perfectly good result.
